India announces 15-member squad for Afghanistan T20I series

The BCCI men's selection committee picked India's squad for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan on Tuesday. Shreyas Iyer captains the side, with Tilak Varma named vice-captain. Sanju Samson returns after his omission from the Zimbabwe tour.

Four players were included subject to fitness clearance. These are Jasprit Bumrah, Washington Sundar, Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy. The squad also features young batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

The three matches will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi between September 13 and 17. The series forms part of India's preparation for the Asian Games cricket event in Japan later this month.
