Shafali Verma scored 64 off 36 balls to set up India's 94-run win over Thailand in the Women's Asia Cup opener at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India posted 159 for nine before bowling Thailand out for 65.

Deepti Sharma and Nandani Sharma took three wickets each. Nannapat Koncharoenkai top-scored for Thailand with 41 off 48 balls in a lone resistance.

Harmanpreet Kaur's side begins its campaign with a convincing victory. India next faces Bangladesh in the group stage.
