India begin Women's Asia Cup campaign against Thailand on August 30

India open their Women's Asia Cup 2026 campaign against Thailand on August 30 as they seek to add to their three titles in the T20 format. The team will face Hong Kong, China and Pakistan in Group A matches before the knockout stages.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur said India are not focusing on any particular opponent as they begin their title defence. The team enters the tournament after questions about their T20 approach were raised following the World Cup campaign.

Former India coach WV Raman stated anything less than the title would be a major disappointment given India's dominance in the competition. The team has won three of the five T20 Asia Cup editions since 2016-17.
