India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs in the Asian Games men's cricket final at Nisshin on Saturday. The defending champions posted 211 for six after opting to bat first, then restricted Pakistan to 192 for six.
Abhishek Sharma scored 61 off 28 balls with seven sixes, while Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 51 from 22 deliveries. Axar Patel and Washington Sundar each took two for 29, and Shivam Dube claimed two for 33.
Pakistan slipped to 39 for three before Hasan Nawaz scored 96 off 51 balls. The result gave India back-to-back golds at the Asian Games and completed a double after the women's team won gold earlier in the week. The victory also marked India's 19th gold medal at the continental event.
