India defeated Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the men's cricket semi-final at the 2026 Asian Games on Thursday. Batting first after losing the toss, India scored 169 for seven in 20 overs, led by Ishan Kishan's unbeaten 80 from 46 balls and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's 38 from 21 balls. Sri Lanka collapsed to 45 all out in 9.5 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah struck twice in the first over of the chase. Axar Patel, Washington Sundar and Abhishek Sharma took five wickets between them as the spinners dominated on a turning pitch. Three Sri Lankan batters were run out during the innings.
India will face Pakistan in the gold medal match at Korogi Athletic Park in Nisshin on Saturday. The match starts at 10 AM IST.
