India open their 2027 World Cup campaign against Australia on October 7 and face Pakistan on October 10 after the ICC released the full schedule on Thursday.
The International Cricket Council released the full schedule for the 2027 ODI World Cup on Thursday. The 57-match tournament runs from October 2 to November 21 across South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe. India begin their campaign against Australia at Newlands in Cape Town on October 7 before meeting Pakistan at the Wanderers in Johannesburg three days later.
India are drawn in Group A alongside Pakistan, Australia, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A. The top three teams from each group plus the best fourth-placed side advance to the Super 7 stage. The final is set for November 21 at the Wanderers. India could face Pakistan up to three times if both sides reach the Super 7, semi-finals and final.
ICC chairman Jay Shah said the schedule announcement marks a major milestone on the road to the tournament. He added that affordable tickets will be available to bring families and local communities closer to the action.
