India women beat Bangladesh by 114 runs to reach Asian Games final
India defeated Bangladesh by 114 runs in the Asian Games women's cricket semifinal at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin on Sunday. Shafali Verma scored an unbeaten 100 from 49 balls with nine sixes and three fours as India posted 195 for four after opting to bat first.
The total set up a gold-medal match against Sri Lanka, who earlier beat Pakistan in the other semifinal. India reached the final after an eight-wicket win over hosts Japan in the quarter-final. Bangladesh advanced to the semifinal when their quarter-final against China was abandoned due to rain.
Sri Lanka will face India in the final on Tuesday, defending champions looking to retain their title from the 2023 Hangzhou edition.
