India fielding coach T Dilip leaves after five-year tenure

India fielding coach T Dilip has left the national set-up after his contract was not renewed following India's T20I tour of Zimbabwe. Subhadeep Ghosh has taken charge and will travel with the team to Sri Lanka for the two-game series starting on August 15.

Dilip joined the team in November 2021 and was part of two ICC Men's T20 World Cup triumphs in 2024 and 2026, the ICC Champions Trophy triumph in 2025 and two Asia Cup wins. He introduced the fielding medal tradition that created competitive energy in the dressing room.

Dilip thanked the BCCI, former head coach Rahul Dravid, current head coach Gautam Gambhir and captains Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer for their support during his five years with the team.
