India likely to field Sanju Samson against Afghanistan in T20Is

India are expected to name Sanju Samson in their squad for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan starting September 13 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Abhishek Sharma is likely to miss out after a dip in recent form.

Afghanistan have recalled Naveen-ul-Haq and Gulbadin Naib for the series. The 15-member squad was announced by the Afghanistan Cricket Board earlier this week.

Selectors are finalising the remainder of the Indian group ahead of the BCCI annual general meeting on September 18. The series serves as preparation for the T20 World Cup later in the year.
