India must adapt bowling approach without Bumrah for Sri Lanka Tests

India will play the two-Test series against Sri Lanka without Jasprit Bumrah, forcing changes to their bowling strategy. Mohammed Siraj becomes the senior seamer with Prasidh Krishna and Gurnoor Brar providing support. The spinners will likely carry a greater share of the wicket-taking burden.

Bumrah's absence removes India's ability to strike at any stage of an innings or exploit reverse swing with the older ball. Siraj must now create pressure rather than contribute to it. The three-day warm-up match against Sri Lanka XI served as preparation for these conditions. India won by six wickets after Siraj hit three consecutive sixes in the chase. The first Test begins in Galle on August 15.
