India not consulted on New Zealand tour schedule, report says

India may rest key players for the final two ODIs in New Zealand because the first Test begins just four days later, a report says.

India's coaching staff may split into two groups for the final two ODIs of the New Zealand tour because the first Test starts four days after the fifth ODI on November 15, according to a report in Dainik Jagran. Players including Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul could be rested for those matches to prepare for the Tests.

The report claims the Indian team was not consulted during scheduling of the five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests that run from October 22 to December 1. Two coaches would stay with the ODI squad in Mount Maunganui while the others travel to Wellington with the Test group.

The two-Test series forms part of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.
