India squad reaches Christchurch ahead of T20I series

The first group of India's squad arrived in Christchurch on Monday for a six-week tour of New Zealand that includes five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests. The tour runs until December 1.

Head coach Gautam Gambhir and players including Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Varun Chakravarthy, Naman Dhir and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi were among those who landed. The T20I series starts on Thursday at Hagley Oval.

Shreyas Iyer will captain the T20I side and the final two ODIs, while Shubman Gill leads the Tests and the first three ODIs. Kumar Kushagra and Yash Thakur received maiden ODI call-ups for the last two matches of that leg.
