India's bowling coach Morne Morkel remains in South Africa sorting out his work visa renewal and missed a preparatory session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Thursday. The absence raised eyebrows as India prepare for the Afghanistan T20I series beginning September 13.

Morkel is expected to rejoin the squad in a few days once the visa issue is resolved. The delay comes as India manage multiple staff changes ahead of the series, including the reported departure of physio Kamlesh Jain.
