India win second ODI by DLS method to take 2-0 series lead

India secured a 2-0 lead in the ODI series after rain ended the second match in Wellington with New Zealand three wickets short of the target.

India won the second ODI against New Zealand by the DLS method after rain prevented a conclusion on the pitch. The match took place in Wellington and gave India a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

New Zealand were dismissed for 134 with their batsmen failing to fire. India had reached 113 for seven when rain stopped play, leaving the hosts three wickets short of victory.

The result means India need only avoid defeat in the final ODI to complete a series win. New Zealand will look to improve their batting performance in the decider.
