India withdraw Nitish Reddy from Asian Games squad for West Indies ODIs
Nigam joins the squad as cover for Chakaravarthy while Reddy shifts to the West Indies ODIs.
India have withdrawn all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy from the Asian Games 2026 squad so he can play in the three-match ODI series against West Indies. Reddy was replaced in the continental squad by uncapped Delhi Capitals spinner Vipraj Nigam. Varun Chakaravarthy was also ruled out of the Asian Games and the Japan T20I with a side strain.
Nigam, 22, played for India A in the recent one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka, taking seven wickets in five matches. Reddy will now feature in the ODI series that begins on 27 September in Thiruvananthapuram. The Asian Games cricket competition runs from 17 September to 3 October in Nagoya, Japan.
