India women eye 3-0 T20I sweep against Zimbabwe in Raipur
India will seek to complete a 3-0 T20I series sweep against Zimbabwe in the final match in Raipur on Tuesday. Captain Smriti Mandhana said the bowling unit showed improved execution in the second match, where India restricted Zimbabwe to 102 for eight before chasing the target in 8.5 overs.
Shafali Verma scored 55 off 25 balls and Mandhana remained unbeaten on 47 as the pair added 96 runs for the first wicket. Niki Prasad took 2 for 7 in her two overs on debut, claiming both wickets with her first two international deliveries. Mandhana credited the bowlers for sticking to plans of bowling fuller lengths after they were criticised for conceding 114 in the opening match.
The 20-year-old all-rounder also scored an unbeaten 39 on debut in the first match. Anushka Sharma, who has been given a chance at No. 3 with Jemimah Rodrigues injured, scored four runs in the opening match and will get another opportunity in the decider.
