Ishan Kishan scores century in Duleep Trophy final

Ishan Kishan made 111 not out on day one of the Duleep Trophy final as East Zone reached 385 for 4.

Ishan Kishan scored 111 not out as East Zone reached 385 for 4 on the first day of the Duleep Trophy final against South Zone at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Kishan added 144 runs for the fifth wicket with Kumar Kushagra, who made 63. East Zone won the toss and chose to bat on a surface with some moisture.

Kishan praised Mohammed Shami's intensity and hunger, noting that the 36-year-old seamer asked for extra overs during East Zone's campaign. Shami is playing his 100th first-class match in the final. Ajit Agarkar was among the spectators at Chepauk.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored 44 after an early counter-attack that included 14 runs off Mohammed Siraj in one over. South Zone's Devdutt Padikkal and Mohammed Siraj were both included in the playing XI.
