Ishan Kishan faces fitness test after back injury scare in India nets

Ishan Kishan hurt his back while facing a bouncer in India's nets and now faces a fitness test ahead of the first T20I against Afghanistan.

Ishan Kishan suffered a back injury scare during a nets session in Delhi after ducking a short ball from net bowler Navdeep Saini. He walked off unaided but did not resume batting ahead of the first T20I against Afghanistan.

Physios attended to Kishan immediately, and his availability for Sunday's match remains under assessment. Abhishek Sharma also skipped a batting drill, adding to questions over India's top-order combination.

Saini later said Kishan indicated he felt fine after the incident. Captain Shreyas Iyer faces a selection decision on the make-up of the top order with limited time before the series opener at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
