Jason Smith ruled out of Namibia T20I series with adductor injury

Jason Smith has been ruled out of the T20I tri-series in Namibia after suffering an adductor muscle strain. The injury ends his participation in the white-ball leg of the tour.

Cricket South Africa confirmed Smith will now undergo assessment to determine his availability for the ODI series, which begins on September 9. The 32-year-old had been expected to feature in all three formats during the trip.

No replacement has been named yet. South Africa open their T20I campaign in Windhoek this week under new captain Bjorn Fortuin.
