Jayant Yadav takes four as Chhattisgarh bowl Andhra out for 231
Jayant marked his return to the side with immediate impact after recovering from injury.
Jayant Yadav claimed four for 75 as Chhattisgarh bowled Andhra out for 231 on the opening day of their Ranji Trophy Group B match at Mulapadu. Ajay Mandal took three wickets and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja two.
Andhra lost six wickets in the first session after Hemanth Reddy fell early. S V Rahul top-scored with 89 before Jayant had him caught attempting to accelerate. Chhattisgarh closed on 35 for one after Ayush Pandey was run out.
The Mulapadu pitch offered early assistance to spin. Captain Anuj Tiwary and Mayank Verma batted through the final 30 minutes to see out the day.
