Joel Paris ruled out six to eight weeks with hamstring tendon strain

Paris joins a lengthening injury list ahead of Western Australia's next Shield match.

Western Australia seamer Joel Paris suffered a hamstring tendon strain during a Sheffield Shield match against New South Wales. Medical staff expect him to miss six to eight weeks of cricket.

Paris will sit out all remaining domestic fixtures before the Big Bash League break. Aaron Hardie is also managing a minor right-shoulder strain, while Lance Morris continues a careful return from a side injury.

Hilton Cartwright will captain Western Australia against South Australia, with Ashton Agar added to the 13-player squad. Cameron Bancroft and Jayden Goodwin scored unbeaten centuries on day one as the team reached 3 for 304.
