Kagiso Rabada ruled out of Australia Test series with grade-three hamstring tear
Kagiso Rabada will miss South Africa's entire three-Test home series against Australia after suffering a grade-three tear to his right hamstring. The injury occurred during winter training and requires up to 10 weeks of recovery time. The first Test begins on October 9 in Johannesburg, leaving Rabada just under six weeks to regain fitness. Cricket South Africa stated that his availability for the series depends on his rehabilitation progress. South Africa must now rely on alternative pace options including Gerald Coetzee and Corbin Bosch for the series. Rabada was previously ruled out of the ODI leg of the multi-format series that begins on September 24. The 31-year-old remains South Africa's leading Test wicket-taker among current players.
