Kainat Imtiaz announces retirement from international cricket after 13-year career

Pakistan women's fast bowler Kainat Imtiaz retired from international cricket after representing the team in 19 ODIs and 21 T20Is over 13 years.

Pakistan women's fast bowler Kainat Imtiaz announced her retirement from international cricket after a 13-year career. She represented Pakistan in 19 ODIs and 21 T20Is. Imtiaz made her T20I debut against South Africa in October 2010 and her ODI debut against Ireland in 2013.

She featured in four matches at the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2017 and was part of Pakistan's gold-medal-winning squads at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games. Her final ODI appearance came against Australia at the Gabba in January 2023.

Imtiaz has begun a new role as a match referee and officiated at the PCB National Women's U19 T20 Tournament in August and September. Her mother, Saleema Imtiaz, became Pakistan's first woman umpire appointed to the ICC International Development Panel in 2024.
