Kainat Imtiaz retires from internationals to become match referee

Her mother Saleema Imtiaz became Pakistan’s first woman umpire appointed to the ICC International Development Panel in 2024.

Pakistan fast bowler Kainat Imtiaz announced her retirement from international cricket after a 13-year career. She played 19 ODIs and 21 T20Is, making her T20I debut in 2010. Imtiaz featured in four matches at the 2017 World Cup and was part of Pakistan’s gold-medal-winning teams at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games. She has begun officiating as a match referee and worked at the PCB National Women’s U19 T20 Tournament in August and September.
