Kranti Gaud fined 10 percent of match fee and handed one demerit point

India pacer Kranti Gaud was fined 10 percent of her match fee and handed one demerit point for a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during the Women's Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka in Dubai on Sunday. She was found guilty of making a provocative gesture after dismissing Imesha Dulani in the opening over of Sri Lanka's 184-run chase.

Gaud admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Supriya Rani Das. Level 1 offences carry the lowest level of sanctions, ranging from an official reprimand to a fine of 50 percent of a player's match fee, along with one or two demerit points.

Pakistan were also sanctioned for a separate over-rate offence during their semi-final against Sri Lanka. The team bowled one over short of the required rate and the players were fined five percent of their match fees, a sanction accepted by captain Fatima Sana.
