Kumar Kushagra added to India squad as cover for injured Ishan Kishan

Kushagra joined the T20I squad as cover for Kishan, who has a low-grade adductor strain. Sooryavanshi replaced Kishan in the playing XI for the second match.

Kumar Kushagra has been added to India's T20I squad for the second match against New Zealand as cover for the injured Ishan Kishan. Kishan sustained a low-grade right adductor strain during the first T20I and has been ruled out of the second match. Kushagra was already in Christchurch with the India A squad.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi replaced Kishan in the playing XI and batted at No. 3. The 15-year-old scored four runs off eight balls before being dismissed. India won the match by four wickets to take a 2-0 series lead.

Kushagra has also earned a maiden call-up to India's ODI squad for the last two matches of the tour. The third T20I is scheduled for Wellington on Tuesday.
