Leicestershire relegated after appeal dismissed
Leicestershire drop to Division Two after the ECB confirmed their points deduction for pitch breaches.
Leicestershire received a 19-point deduction for breaching pitch regulations and lost their appeal against the penalty. The Cricket Discipline Panel upheld the deduction, confirming the county's relegation to Division Two. Essex retained Division One status as a result. The club had already been penalised earlier in the season for failing to meet required pitch standards. Officials confirmed the final ruling after a review of the original decision. Leicestershire will now compete in Division Two next season unless they win promotion through the second-tier standings.
