Leicestershire relegated after points deduction upheld

Leicestershire drop to Division Two after the ECB confirmed their points deduction for pitch breaches.

Leicestershire were relegated to County Championship Division Two after the ECB upheld a points deduction for pitch regulation breaches. The penalty left the club unable to avoid the drop.

The club had already received the deduction earlier in the season for failing to meet required pitch standards. Officials confirmed the ruling after a final review.

Leicestershire will compete in Division Two next season unless they win promotion through the second-tier standings.
