CSK sign Forrester to replace injured Overton for LSG match
Dian Forrester joins CSK for Rs 75 lakh after Jamie Overton's thigh injury ends his season. The South African all-rounder arrives mid-campaign as CSK push toward the playoffs.
Chennai Super Kings have signed Dian Forrester to replace Jamie Overton, who's out with a thigh injury. The 24-year-old South African all-rounder joins for the remainder of the season at Rs 75 lakh.
Overton leaves having taken 14 wickets and scored 136 runs in 10 games. His last match was a turning point — CSK beat LSG by five wickets at MA Chidambaram Stadium, with Overton taking 3-36 as the visitors posted 203-8. Josh Inglis top-scored with 85 off 33 for LSG.
CSK are juggling injuries. MS Dhoni's dealing with a calf strain while Spencer Johnson may return soon. Four wins in five games have them in playoff contention. Forrester brings five T20I caps and sharp domestic pace bowling numbers to the squad.
