Manav Suthar takes 5 for 75 as Warwickshire beat Essex by eight wickets

Suthar's five-wicket haul helped Warwickshire move to the top of the Division One table with their fourth win in five matches.

Manav Suthar claimed five wickets for 75 runs in Essex's second innings to help Warwickshire secure an eight-wicket victory in Division One of the County Championship on Wednesday. The left-arm spinner bowled 24 overs and dismissed Paul Walter for 42 and former South Africa captain Dean Elgar for 29.

Warwickshire chased a target of 133 runs in 26 overs after bowling Essex out for 189. Suthar has now taken 26 wickets in 10 innings for Warwickshire at an economy of 2.79.

The 24-year-old made his Test debut for India against Afghanistan in June 2026. He has taken 23 wickets in three Test matches at an average of 17.34.
