Matthew Renshaw confirmed as Australia opener for second Test
Matthew Renshaw will open for Australia in the second Test against Bangladesh after Jake Weatherald was dropped following the Darwin defeat.
Australia captain Pat Cummins confirmed that Matthew Renshaw will open in the second Test against Bangladesh in Mackay. Renshaw replaces Jake Weatherald, who scored 23 and 0 in the first Test defeat in Darwin.
The Queensland left-hander last opened for Australia during the 2023 Ashes series. Nathan Lyon retains his place in the XI after surviving a selection discussion.
Australia need a win to level the series before the World Test Championship cycle concludes.
