MCA to name Wankhede lounges after Tendulkar, Rahane and Mantri
Mumbai Cricket Association will name Wankhede lounges after Sachin Tendulkar, Ajinkya Rahane and Madhav Mantri while raising its club subsidy to ₹500 crore.
The Mumbai Cricket Association will name lounges at Wankhede Stadium after Sachin Tendulkar, Ajinkya Rahane and Madhav Mantri as part of a ₹500 crore grassroots investment. The lounges honouring Mantri and Rahane will be in the MCA Pavilion while Tendulkar's is likely near his statue in the Sachin Tendulkar Stand.
MCA also increased its subsidy corpus for affiliated clubs to ₹500 crore over the next 10 years. The decision was taken at a meeting on Friday.
Rahane urged patience with 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, saying the youngster will have plenty of opportunities in the future. The investment represents the largest grassroots commitment in MCA's recent history.
