Megan Schutt handed two-match suspension for prescription medication breach

Schutt accepts two-match ban for failure to adhere to requirements under the Sports Science and Sports Medicine guidelines.

Australia fast bowler Megan Schutt has accepted a two-match suspension for failing to meet requirements around the use of prescription medication. Cricket Australia said the breach involved a single incident that occurred out of competition and was not for performance-enhancing purposes.

The suspension covers Thursday's third T20I against New Zealand at North Sydney Oval and the Adelaide Strikers' opening WBBL match against Melbourne Stars on October 31. Schutt, 33, said she fully accepted the penalty and apologised for not meeting the standards expected of her.

She added that she understood her responsibility to follow the Sports Science and Sports Medicine Guidelines, which players receive regular education on, and should have adhered to those rules. Australia lead the T20I series 2-0.
