Mendis and Fernando ruled out of England T20I series

Kusal Mendis and Binura Fernando have been ruled out of Sri Lanka's T20I series in England, with Pavan Rathnayake and Dilshan Madushanka called up as replacements.

Sri Lanka have ruled Kusal Mendis and Binura Fernando out of the upcoming T20I series in England. The pair will not travel with the touring squad after being withdrawn from the original selection.

Pavan Rathnayake and Dilshan Madushanka have been drafted into the squad as replacements. Rathnayake will provide middle-order batting cover while Madushanka adds depth to the pace attack.

The three-match series begins next week. Sri Lanka have not disclosed the specific reasons for the withdrawals.
