Lionel Messi won two Copa America titles with Argentina in 2021 and 2024, along with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. He was also part of Argentina sides that finished runners-up in Copa America finals in 2015 and 2016, and World Cup finals in 2014 and 2026.

Messi played 207 games for Argentina and finished as the all-time leading scorer with 125 goals, 21 of them in World Cups. He sits second behind France's Kylian Mbappe by just one goal in World Cup scoring.

His international career spanned 21 years and delivered Argentina's first World Cup title in 36 years.
