Michael Bracewell named New Zealand captain for India ODI series

New Zealand have handed Michael Bracewell the captaincy for the three-match ODI series in India. Mitchell Santner is being rested with a groin injury, and Kyle Jamieson returns from a back problem. Kane Williamson and several other senior players were left out, while Jayden Lennox earned his first call-up.

The tour starts later this month and forms part of a deliberate workload plan. New Zealand face Test series against both India and Australia soon, so this white-ball trip is about blooding younger players and keeping established names fresh.
