Misbah-ul-Haq resigns from PCB selection committee

Misbah-ul-Haq has resigned from the PCB selection committee after the board carried out a seven-player overhaul during the England Test series. The former captain also decided to step down as batting consultant at the National Cricket Academy. The PCB has not yet accepted his resignation.

The departures follow Pakistan's heavy loss to England at Lord's. The board sacked seven players and two coaches during the tour and added five uncapped players to the squad for the final Test. Ramiz Raja criticised the board for creating what he called a world record in mid-series changes.

The PCB has also launched a high-level investigation into Imam-ul-Haq's injury after releasing the batter from the tour. A separate report claims the board had considered banning Imam after a 2025 probe found he faked an injury.
