Misbah-ul-Haq resigns from PCB selection committee after squad overhaul
Misbah steps down as Pakistan cricket faces governance crisis after mid-series squad changes.
Misbah-ul-Haq offered his resignation from Pakistan's national selection committee following the PCB's decision to release seven players from the England tour after the 194-run defeat at Lord's. The former captain also stepped down as batting consultant at the National Cricket Academy.
The PCB has not yet accepted Misbah's resignation. Reports indicate the board had considered banning Imam-ul-Haq after a 2025 probe allegedly found he faked an injury, adding to the turmoil surrounding player management.
The seven-player overhaul came after Pakistan lost the first two Tests of the series. The changes affected both senior players and emerging talents without clear performance-based criteria, according to multiple reports from Hindustan Times, DNA India and Geo Super.
