Mitchell Santner hopes Kohli and Rohit face tougher pitches in New Zealand
Santner wants Kohli and Rohit tested by home pitches during India's November tour after both have historically enjoyed batting in New Zealand.
New Zealand limited-overs captain Mitchell Santner said he hopes Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma encounter more challenging conditions when India tours in November. Santner noted that both batters have historically enjoyed batting in New Zealand and expressed hope that the pattern changes during the upcoming series.
New Zealand's first target remains winning the five-match ODI series at home. The tour also includes three ODIs against Sri Lanka and preparatory matches ahead of the 2027 World Cup. Santner said the Black Caps are preparing for a full three-format series against India later this year. India last toured New Zealand for ODIs in 2022. Kohli and Rohit have combined for multiple centuries on previous visits.
