Mitchell Santner to lead New Zealand in five T20Is against India from 22 October

New Zealand named Mitchell Santner as captain for the five-match T20I series against India starting 22 October. Santner leads a 16-member squad that includes 13 players from the side that reached the T20 World Cup final in Ahmedabad in March. Adam Milne and Michael Bracewell return after missing the tournament through injury.

Rachin Ravindra has been ruled out after dislocating his right shoulder in a promotional shoot last week. Coach Rob Walter said Ravindra needs at least six weeks of rehabilitation and is expected to be available for the ODI series starting 4 November. Bevon Jacobs has been added as cover.

The squad features seven fast bowlers and is expected to face conditions that assist seam movement in October and November. The series forms part of a 12-match tour that also includes five ODIs and two Tests across four cities.
