Mitchell Starc jokes about retirement, clarifies he has more cricket left

Mitchell Starc clarifies he is not retiring after joking about walking away once he completes planned Test commitments.

Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc said he still has plenty of cricket ahead after joking during a podcast that he could retire once he completes 21 planned Test matches over the next 18 months. Starc has played only two of those Tests so far. His wife, Alyssa Healy, reacted with surprise to the remark before Starc clarified that he was not announcing his retirement. Starc is preparing to join Australia for the upcoming tour of South Africa and said he had already bowled with captain Pat Cummins before the podcast appearance.
