Mohammed Shami breaks silence on India absence after Duleep Trophy

Mohammed Shami has not played for India since March 2025 but the veteran pacer asserted that his motivation level has not dipped. He remains focused on reaching the next level in his career.

Shami took two wickets on Day 3 of the Duleep Trophy final as East Zone reduced South Zone to 242 for six. He said he enjoyed mentoring young players like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi during the tournament.

East Zone won the title on first-innings lead. Shami's domestic return follows a long injury layoff that kept him out of international cricket.
