Mohammed Shami says Bhuvneshwar selection does not concern him
Shami says Bhuvneshwar's T20I recall does not concern him and he will continue focusing on domestic performances for Bengal rather than selection speculation.
Mohammed Shami said Bhuvneshwar Kumar's recall to India's T20I squad for the New Zealand tour does not affect his own approach to the game. Shami stated that he will focus on performing wherever he gets an opportunity rather than worrying about national selection.
Shami's last international appearance came in March 2025 during the Champions Trophy. He has continued to perform for Bengal in domestic cricket and said he has proved his fitness over the last two or three years. Shami added that if he does not get another chance to play for India, it will not be his loss.
Bhuvneshwar earned his recall after taking 28 wickets in IPL 2026, finishing second in the wicket-taking charts. Shami will feature for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy, which begins on October 11 against Delhi in Kalyani.
