Siraj leads Hyderabad to innings victory over Tripura
Siraj secured his first Ranji win as Hyderabad captain with a bonus-point victory.
Mohammed Siraj led Hyderabad to an innings and 40-run victory over Tripura on the third day of their Ranji Trophy match at Gymkhana Ground. Tripura lost their remaining three wickets for 14 runs after resuming at 107 for seven.
Left-arm spinner Tanay Thyagarajan took six wickets in the second innings to finish with nine for the match. Siraj claimed two wickets after going wicketless in the first innings.
Siraj said he retains the same hunger that marked his debut season for Hyderabad a decade ago. The captain credited mentor Wasim Jaffer for guiding the team's batters on a red-soil pitch that offered little assistance to pace.
