Mohammed Siraj says long break caused poor show in Sri Lanka Tests
Mohammed Siraj blamed a long break for his struggles in Sri Lanka and said the Duleep Trophy restored his rhythm.
India pacer Mohammed Siraj attributed his struggles in the recent Test series in Sri Lanka to a long break between matches. He said his rhythm is back after playing in the Duleep Trophy final. Siraj has bowled the second-most overs across formats since his 2020 debut, trailing only Mitchell Starc.
Siraj will captain Hyderabad in the upcoming 2026-27 Ranji Trophy season, with Chama Milind as vice-captain. The pacer said domestic cricket helped him regain his bowling rhythm ahead of India's next assignments. He described himself as a rhythm bowler who needs regular match practice to perform at his best.
The appointment marks Siraj's continued leadership role in domestic cricket. Hyderabad will begin their Ranji Trophy campaign against Tripura in the coming weeks.
