PCB clears Rizwan to play domestic cricket amid inquiry

Muhammad Rizwan receives PCB clearance to return to domestic cricket while the NCCA inquiry into betting and information leaks remains ongoing.

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Muhammad Rizwan has received PCB clearance to resume domestic cricket while an inquiry into allegations of online betting, gambling and leaking dressing-room information continues. Former captain Mohammad Hafeez confirmed the permission on Sunday.

Rizwan will lead Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited in the ongoing Presidents Cup first-class tournament from October 19. He and teammate Imam-ul-Haq were barred from domestic cricket after being called back from England following the second Test at Lord's in August.

Rizwan has appeared before the National Cyber Crime Cell twice. A source indicated the inquiry could conclude soon after his latest session on October 10 in Lahore. He has not played competitive cricket since the Lord's Test.
