Mumbai Indians appoint Robin Uthappa as batting coach for IPL 2027
Mumbai Indians named four new coaches for IPL 2027 while reports suggest Hardik Pandya may leave the franchise.
Mumbai Indians parted ways with bowling coach Paras Mhambrey and fielding coach Carl Hopkinson. Robin Uthappa was appointed batting coach, Mitchell McClenaghan as bowling coach, T.K. Dilip as fielding coach and Dhawal Kulkarni as development bowling coach ahead of IPL 2027. Kieron Pollard remains head coach.
Robin Uthappa described his return to Mumbai Indians as feeling like destiny. Reports indicate Hardik Pandya may be traded or released before the 2027 season after leading the side to the playoffs only once in the last three years.
R Ashwin predicted Hardik Pandya could join Chennai Super Kings if he leaves Mumbai Indians. Tilak Varma is also under consideration for the captaincy role alongside a possible return for Rohit Sharma.
