Mumbai Indians consider four candidates for assistant coach role

Mumbai Indians are in discussions to finalise Kieron Pollard's support staff for the upcoming IPL season. The franchise has four options for the assistant coach position including Aaron Finch and two former India cricketers, one of whom has represented the franchise in the past.

T Dilip is the frontrunner for the fielding coach position. Bowling coaches Lasith Malinga and Paras Mhambrey will continue for the 2027 edition, leaving the assistant coach as the only missing piece in Pollard's backroom team.

Pollard succeeded Mahela Jayawardene as head coach and will need to address the captaincy and Hardik Pandya trade matters before the retention deadline. The franchise finished ninth and tenth in the past two seasons after their 2020 title win.
