Murali Kartik questions Sooryavanshi's No. 3 position after four-run knock

Murali Kartik questioned Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's No. 3 position after the 15-year-old scored four runs off eight balls in India's second T20I against New Zealand. The youngster came into the side in place of injured Ishan Kishan and batted at number three for the first time.

Kartik said Sooryavanshi should have opened the innings instead. He noted that experienced players must be flexible to support young talent and that Sooryavanshi looked uncomfortable at number three.

India still won by four wickets with Tilak Varma unbeaten on 51 and Nitish Kumar Reddy scoring 26. Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of the third T20I in Wellington, giving Sooryavanshi another opportunity to bat higher up the order.
