Naman Dhir clarifies his T20I role after West Indies series
Naman Dhir outlines his flexible lower-order and part-time bowling role for India.
Naman Dhir said he has been instructed to bat at number six or seven and bowl two to three economical overs when required. The Mumbai Indians all-rounder took five wickets in nine overs across the three-match T20I series against the West Indies.
Dhir explained that he reads batters' stances and backlifts while bowling off-spin. He dismissed Kamil Pooran in the third T20I after conceding three sixes in the over, finishing with two wickets as India won by 14 runs to take a 2-1 series lead.
Dhir said the Impact Player rule limits his bowling opportunities in the IPL, but he has always contributed with the ball in other formats. He added that he has no specific targets and prefers to focus on playing his cricket.
